The challenge

A major issue for transport companies is detecting and preventing damage to their property and facilities. A public transport company wanted to reduce the manual work and time spent looking through CCTV footage for damage to bus stops due to vandalism.

Due to privacy concerns, they wanted to explore the effectiveness of detecting the damage through noise detection rather than CCTV footage.

The solution

Using an NVIDIA Jetson Nano Edge AI device, Blackbook was able to build a computer vision CNN model that identified damaging spectrograms based on frequencies.

The outcomes

With limited staff to gather evidence of vandalism and damage to their assets, the noise detection solution increased the speed that the transport company was able to detect and respond to these events.
