The challenge
The Promotion Planning Application (PPA), is a business-critical application that enables the coordination of business processes and provides a record of promotions as well as promotional forecasts for SRG. These promotional forecasts are needed to ensure the right stock is in the right place at the right time to support promotions. The client wanted to modernise their corporate data warehouse and reporting platform by moving away from specific private cloud environments.
The solution
Blackbook’s solution involved moving to a low-cost, public cloud hosting a new data warehouse (Snowflake) coupled with a new business intelligence tool (Qlik Sense). PPA has now been re–developed and de-coupled from the data warehouse technology stack.
The outcomes
The client is now saving time across the board through having had this system implemented operating on a low-cost platform with an up to date, efficient system.
